Lifestyle change

We’re often engulfed in busyness. You know, when you’re just having a great deal to do. It’s very normal, and my thoughts on this led me to the big Q today; which is on how we approach the busyness of life.

For instance, do you at times spread your tasks all over and end up doing too little on each and every task? Never completing a single task? Making minimal progress? Getting stuck every now and then? Basically, do you at times make choices that have you achieving zero results? Especially on your time management.

You may have often found yourself in a situation where you might have gotten up as early as 5am. And at 10pm as you lay to rest and think about the day’s ordeals, you can’t really pick out at least one achievement for the day. Yet, you yawn in exhaustion, with your eyes too heavy.

You struggle to highlight how you’ve made yourself better in a day. And you know, it really doesn’t have to be in a big way. It’s the little things that count after all. Now that’s what i’d like to refer to as being busy, but not effective.

Are you always just busy or effective?

I always believe I am not just here to pass through life, wandering around like a zombie lol. I believe we were all born for a purpose. That’s why we’ve got to give meaning to everything we do, to every task we take up, to every journey we embark on. We’ve got to attach a purpose to it. This way, you will be effective, undoubtedly.

/ˈpəːpəs/ – the reason for which something is done or created or for which something exists.

If you want to live a life of purpose, then you need to do things on purpose.

Did you know you can be very busy doing nothing? Lol. It’s very possible. Let’s take stock. Think about your average day. And because we’re now doing things on purpose, irrelevant items are getting off the list right away. We can’t afford to waste so much time on such.

Don’t get me wrong, you don’t have to be on the go 24/7, no, it’s just that when you take your time off, you’re going to be doing it on purpose. Not just because you feel like it.

I’m calling on us to make a lifestyle change to effectiveness. Get away from the noise. Clear your mind. Think, have I been amplifying simple tasks? what useless things have I been wasting my time on? Is it the scrolling through social media pages for hours on end. Is it sleeping for extra long hours everyday. Is it the gossip calls. Or maybe …….

Get away from the noise

Today, we choose to be busy and effective. Or we might as well just decide to sleep through the days lol.

How you spend your time, ultimately makes the difference between you and your peers. Thomas Edison says that “time is the only capital that human beings have, and the only thing we cannot afford to lose.” Hence, I say, place a premium on every second of your day, will you?

Take care of the minutes and the hours will take care of themselves.

Another reminder is to always work towards a goal and you’ll achieve way much more. Yearly goals, monthly goals, weekly goals, down to daily goals. It saves time and makes you an achiever. That way, one is also able to track progress and make amends where necessary.

Regardless of what may throw you off balance in life, always get your focus back on time. Get up real fast, before you get used to staying down. Bounce back baby! The sooner you do, you’ll realise the better for you. The adage goes, time waits for no man.

Live a life full of purpose. Live like you know you were predestined for good works. With that in mind, we’ll be more intentional in everything we do. Most importantly, on our time aspect. We won’t take up tasks haphazardly. We’ll be more organized in our dealings. We’ll prioritize order.

Every day is a gift. Make sure you’re investing your time, not wasting it. Get away from the noise. Get some order into your life. Make every second count. Do things on purpose. When you do, you’ll be effective!

Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow has not yet come. We have only today. Let us begin. – Mother Teresa

Declutter! Cheers to effectiveness as we take up every single task on purpose!

Thank you for reading 😊💛

  1. Thoughtful, and very inspiring post! Thanks for sharing, Doris.

I love this line – “We were all born for a purpose”. It is a great reminder. One should always remember that, no matter what they are called to do in life, it is never too small or too big to do with a heart of excellence.

Well done, Doris for such a timely reminder that our lives have purpose and meaning.
